Mojave Desert Star
is one of several kinds of "belly flowers" which are small flowers hiding in the
cracks and crevices of the rocks that are best seen on your belly!
Beaver tail prickly pear cactus--showy on the
landscape with light and dark variation of flower petals.
Creosote bush is common. Oils produced
by the plant inhibit the growth of other plants too close to it--a water conserving
adaptation by the plant.
